Cool Things I Heard on the Radio

I spend a lot of time listening to the radio during my commute.  Sometimes that means podcasts of prior broadcasts, and sometimes it means actual real-time live radio from my local station. I know, crazypants.

I always learn something weird and wonderful. It’s such a strange experience sometimes, alone in the car, with this flood of information, and no one to turn to and discuss it with. It feels illuminating and alienating all at the same time. So I’ve decided that this Tumblr’s Friday programming will be a link to something cool I heard on the radio or from a podcast.

Choosing this week’s starter entry was tough, but I think it has to go to this story: http://www.scpr.org/programs/madeleine-brand/2011/04/01/guatemalan-lawyer-predicts-his-own-death/

I’m a big fan of the Madeleine Brand show, and her guests are always fascinating. This was no exception, and I’d love to read this book.

Go listen!
